Multipoint mechanisms
The strip of hooks, rollers and deadbolts inside a UPVC door. When it seizes or snaps the door will not lock — and it is a replaceable part, not a reason to buy a new door.
Bi-fold and patio doors
Dropped, dragging or refusing to fold cleanly. Usually rollers, track debris or alignment rather than anything terminal.
Hinges and handles
Dropped sashes, stiff opening, snapped handles and worn friction stays. Small parts, quick fixes, immediate difference.
Draught proofing
Perished gaskets and worn seals let heat out and rain in. Reseating or replacing them is one of the cheapest improvements you can make to an older UPVC window.
Common questions
My UPVC door will not lock. Is that a new door?
Very rarely. The usual culprit is the multipoint locking mechanism inside the door edge, which is a replaceable part. We would need to see it to confirm, but repair is the normal outcome.
Can you match parts on older windows?
Often, yes. Window and door hardware has changed over the years but a great many older mechanisms, hinges and handles still have direct or equivalent replacements available.
Do you repair aluminium frames as well as UPVC?
Yes. Aluminium is a specialism of ours, including commercial aluminium door gear and closers.
Is repairing actually worth it, or should I just replace?
We will tell you honestly. If a frame is beyond economic repair we will say so. But most of what we are called to is hardware failure in a perfectly sound frame.
