Locksmiths in Essex — 24 Hours a Day
Locked out, broken key, or a lock that has finally given up — our line is answered 24 hours a day. Wherever it is possible we open non-destructively, which means picking the lock rather than drilling it, so you are not paying for a replacement you did not need.
We also do the planned work: changing locks after a tenancy ends or a relationship changes, upgrading vulnerable euro cylinders to anti-snap, and bringing door security up to the standard your home insurer expects.

In more detail
Emergency lockouts
Answered around the clock. Non-destructive entry wherever the lock allows it.
Anti-snap cylinder upgrades
Standard euro cylinders can be defeated by snapping. A three-star anti-snap cylinder is an inexpensive upgrade that closes off one of the most common methods of forced entry on UPVC doors.
Burglary damage
We make the property secure first, then put the door, frame and locks right. We can provide documentation for your insurer.
Insurance-standard locks
Many policies specify British Standard locks on final exit doors. If yours does and your locks do not meet it, a claim can be complicated. We can check and upgrade.
Common questions
Will you have to drill my lock?
Not usually. Non-destructive entry is always the first approach. Drilling is a last resort for locks that cannot be manipulated open, and we will tell you before we do it.
I have lost my keys. Do I need the locks changed?
If the keys are genuinely lost rather than misplaced somewhere in the house, changing or rekeying the locks is the sensible course — particularly if anything with your address was attached to them.
What is an anti-snap cylinder and do I need one?
It is a euro cylinder engineered to break in a controlled place so the lock stays secure. If you have a UPVC or composite door with a standard cylinder, it is one of the most cost-effective security upgrades available.
Can you change locks between tenancies?
Yes, and it is a routine job for us. We work with landlords and letting agents across Essex and can rekey or replace on changeover.
